Project Overview

Client Need:

The homeowner wanted to add a second bathroom in their basement. They had only an unfinished basement at that point, so they were going from zero to a full bathroom. They called us to get the job done.

How We Helped:

The project began with the same thorough planning process we use for homeowner projects. We needed to cut a channel in the concrete floor to accommodate new plumbing that would run all the way to the main stack. This plumbing work required careful planning to ensure proper slope, connections, and code compliance.

The wall framing was next, working with the existing concrete block basement walls. We created a proper framing system that would support drywall, provide space for insulation, and create a defined bathroom space.

The Pinterest-inspired approach meant paying attention to details: tile patterns, fixture choices, color schemes, and layout. We installed drywall, painted, put down flooring, added the tiling and installed the fixtures.

One of the most interesting aspects of this project was the material sourcing approach. Rather than going to traditional suppliers or big box stores for everything, the homeowner found many materials on Facebook Marketplace. This unconventional sourcing method allowed us to find quality materials at significantly better prices. The homeowner found fixtures, vanities, and other components that were in good condition and well-priced, demonstrating that with patience and good judgment, alternative sourcing can yield just as good results.

The finished bathroom is a complete transformation. What had been an incomplete space with only a shower is now a full, functional bathroom with all standard fixtures. The Pinterest-inspired design ensures the space is both functional and visually appealing, and the use of Facebook Marketplace materials demonstrates cost-effective sourcing without compromising quality.

The basement now has a complete, full bathroom that matches the quality and aesthetic standards we provide for homeowners. The Pinterest-inspired design ensures the space is both functional and visually appealing, and the use of Facebook Marketplace materials demonstrates cost-effective sourcing without compromising quality.
